More magical references...

I moved onto a second Brookmyre book, and it seemed to contain quite a lot of magical references again. Of course, magicians must prove quite a source for 'impossible murders or robberies' etc (think of UK tv's Jonathan Creek) - or maybe the research he did spread far enough to inspire another book, or maybe Brookmyre does amateur magic, like me.

Anyway, The Sacred Art of Stealing amused me. One of the things I like is that I can't quite put my finger on what kind of book it is. Check out the mixed reviews on his website, here.

I still hope to get to the Day of Magic in Cardiff, just to see who does this stuff around here. I already know a couple of members, vaguely.
